In 2023, Harris | Oakmark launched a new partnership with Genesys Works.1 This program paired two high school students with our firm in a part-time, one-year internship during their school year to learn about working in a corporate environment and the asset management industry.
“I wish I had this program available when I was in high school. The Genesys Works program opens doors for young professionals. The program empowers high school students to reach their full potential and explore their desired career paths with confidence,” Monica Parado, service desk manager, who oversaw an intern during the year shared.
We look forward to continuing this partnership again in 2025.
1Genesys Works is a not-for-profit organization that pairs high school students in underserved communities with major companies through meaningful internships. Once students successfully complete a skills training course, they are matched with a paid, yearlong internship at a partner company where they participate in 20-hr workweeks while in school. Throughout their internship, they gain market-ready technical skills and receive guidance and planning relevant to their future career path.
