In 2024, Harris | Oakmark continued its ongoing partnership with Sport Dans La Ville. The French organization was founded 25 years ago with a mission to serve underrepresented groups by engaging them through sports and fostering their growth through school and higher education.
On April 16, 2024, the firm welcomed Sport Dans La Ville students to the office to learn more about the financial services industry and corporate America. Harris | Oakmark sponsored a speed networking event where the students had the chance to interact with several employees individually to discuss their own experiences and provide perspective on work in America.
“It was an inspiring experience meeting with the bright young adults. Their determination and passion for learning was evident as we discussed their career possibilities in investment management and beyond. By providing access to English education and professional experiences abroad, this program opens doors to their futures. It was great seeing them engage in one-on-one sessions with various members of our team, gaining insights and building connections to help shape their paths ahead,” said Kate Shearer, talent acquisition lead.
