
The Harris | Oakmark Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council (DEI Council) hosted a series of roundtable discussions focused on DEI core principles.
Each session began with a video featuring Pat Wadors, Chief People Officer at UKG, who introduced the Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DIBs) framework. In the video, Wadors explained that diversity represents the mix, inclusion ensures the mix works well together, and belonging emphasizes creating an environment where individuals feel valued and can be their authentic selves.
Following the video, participants engaged in group discussions, sharing their thoughts and responding to questions such as where they see DIBs at Harris and how they can support those efforts.
“Facilitating a session on ‘Belonging’ allowed me to not only share some experiences I’ve learned throughout my career, but more interestingly, the responses of the participants showed active engagement, and their feedback was thoughtful so everyone took something away from this session,” shared Colin McFarland, Chief Compliance Officer Emeritus.
