The Harris Women’s Network (HWN) hosted a week of events celebrating International Women’s Day (IWD) on March 8.
Throughout the week, HWN set up a letter-writing station where colleagues shared messages of encouragement and support for women in their lives.
HWN also partnered with Sarah’s Circle, a local women’s shelter, for a volunteer event focused on job readiness. Volunteers worked directly with women at the shelter, offering guidance on resumes, interview skills, and professional development.
The week concluded with a firmwide lunch catered by FARE, a women-owned restaurant, celebrating IWD while supporting women entrepreneurs.
“It was inspiring to see how Harris can and does #AccelerateAction for IWD. I particularly enjoyed the volunteer workshop with Sarah’s Circle and being able to help empower women with professional tools to lower some of the barriers to the workplace. It was a great reminder that the commitment to fostering an equitable and diverse community takes place both within and outside of Harris,” shared Madeline Polinski, total rewards specialist.
